Ryan Bright, Master of Arts Marriage and Family Therapy, Canadian Certified Counselor

Hi, I’m Ryan

You know how when things are tough at home or with your mental health, we can start coming up with new reasons to stay away from home? At Bright Family Wellness, my goal work alongside you, so that you become the kind of person and family that you’re excited to be at home with to at the end of the day.

As a counselor (M.A., C.C.C.) I specialize in helping individuals and families create lasting change in their lives and relationships through effective, systemic and developmentally informed counseling and therapy.

My Story

I love supporting people in their journey find freedom from the problems affecting them, so that they can be excited to do what they love doing, with families and loved ones. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, and travelling with my family when we can fit it in.

Through my own life, and over a decade of work with children, adolescents, young adults and families in mentoring, supporting, pastoral counselling roles, I found that we each have times when it feels like we want to find as many excuses as possible to stay away from home, even though we love our families and want things to be great.

I trained to get my M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy so that I could develop the skills to help people address the complex problems that were getting in the way of the life and relationships they wanted. I am an Associate Member of the Canadian Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

My work with people is influenced by perspectives of Narrative Therapy, Developmental Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, and Strength Based Therapy.
